Our Middle East operations have an exciting opportunity for a Design Manager/Project Manager to join our Abu Dhabi office in the UAE. Reporting to the Property and Buildings Group Manager, this position will suit a Senior/Principal Architect/Engineer with a track record of people, project and client management, who is seeking to work in a challenging and collaborative atmosphere.

The successful candidate will possess the following; 

1. Minimum 7 years’ experience with minimum 5 years’ consultancy or contractor background.
2. Experience in preparing winning fee proposals and tenders will be an advantage.
3. Extensive design experience from concept through to construction, across a range of project types including residential, commercial, hospitality, medical, education and high-rise developments.
4. Proven track record of delivering multidisciplinary design projects, on time and within budget, in a variety of industries.
5. Ability to successfully manage clients and other significant internal and external stakeholders.
6. Extensive experience in preparing design briefs, fee proposals and negotiating contracts with both subcontractors / sub consultants.
7. Developing and agreeing job work packages, budget and progress monitoring with other team leaders.
8. Leading and chairing technical coordination meetings and interdisciplinary checks with project team.
9. Implementing SID “Safety in Design” principals throughout the design process.
10. Implementing and monitoring a ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Structure throughout projects.
11. Ability to support project team in obtaining local authority approvals.
12. Middle East experience and a working knowledge of design and construction practices specific to this region.
